Web Accessibility Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Colonial Behavioral Health is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA standards. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without any exceptions. Here are some of the practices we have implemented to make sure our site is as easy to use for all guests:

Site Structure – Colonial Behavioral Health lists meaningful and contextual headings, lists, paragraphs, and other formatting features for screen reader access.

Text Equivalents – All non-text content such as images have a text alternative that serves the equivalent purpose.

Sensory Characteristics – Content does not rely solely on sensory characteristics such as color, size, visual location, or sound to make sure all our guests have access. All text and elements also meet compliant contrast standards.

Keyboard Access – All website pages can be accessed using a keyboard without keyboard traps, sufficient timing, and appropriate reading sequence.

Site Consistency – The website menu and layout are identical sitewide allowing users to familiarize themselves and accomplish tasks easily.
